Who can tell me if we will still be using a Tire PAX in Kelowna and Vernon next season?
... if my car is classed in BSP but I want to run a 200 TW tire vs an R compound is there a second PAX that is applied?
I did not make it to many events the last couple years, but from what I recall we did have some kind of equalizer in 2014 and maybe also in 2015...?

Yes - we will still be using the tire pax. It's currently .975 x the real pax. I'll review that number once the 2016 pax numbers are released, but it's not likely to change.

Sweet this is good to know. As much as I'd love to run A6 or A7 I'm not sure I'm down with the costs of tires and wheels.

I'm having some fun with the 1978 911 SC (3.0L)... a stripped interior will put it in F Prepared or SSM, i believe? PAX numbers are nearly the same for both classes. I'm not expecting to have a competitive autoXer, just hoping to end up with a fun car for both track days and autoX.
Unlikely to happen but I'd like to see a 15" 200TW tires come that is wider than a 225.

How about a 245/40/15. The Maxxis VR-1 and it will be 200TW. Tire is not in production yet, but it's existence has been confirmed by someone working for Maxxis. The plan is to have it ready in enough sizes in the spring to meet SCCA availability requirements.
The Maxxis RC-1 is a 100TW R-Comp that has become hugely popular with road racers, lemons, crap can, etc due to price (cheap) and long life.. A lot of people have high hopes for this new 200TW tire being reasonably fast, cheapish, and available in a couple oddball sizes including the wide 15".

949 is making 15x11 6uls for 2016, I think the 245s would stretch on nicely.

The 245 has been available in a Hoosier for a couple years. Bundy runs them on 10" (on road courses) and says they are awesome. That's what was behind his decision to go to 11's for the 275 Hoosiers. Apparently Emilio at 949 is a believer as well - hence the 11". I'm not sure that you would want a 15x11 for a 245.....unless you bought a VW and like the really stretched look.autoschmidt wrote:949 is making 15x11 6uls for 2016, I think the 245s would stretch on nicely.

It's actually great to see you on our AutoX Forum as it's been quite a while! Anyways, I've never visited the BMW, or Porsche Forum sites where you probably have visited for advice because I don't have one of those fast vehicles. But maybe I should visit their Forums so I can learn a bit more about all what all you expert mechanics learn or know about tweeking for AutoX (and you know who I mean that know mechanics because you work on your own vehicls).
I only f******g (oops, Moderator you can delete because it was politically incorrect, offensive, or whatever correctness for the Forum posting or give me a warning, I can handle it) DRIVE vehicles to the best of my non mechanical knowledge of sway bars, dampers, rates, ECU plug-in revamping, larger fuel rails, short or long air ram intakes, tire pressures for the surface, etc.!
BTW, I think I might have lots of fun with my wife's Honda Fit stuffing those 245/40/15s on her stock 15" Sport Wheels!
What you all think? A bit of rubbing to slow me down?!
